Direct Access

After you have completed your CBT, you have a choice. If you are 21 or over you can opt to take our direct access training course on our 500cc motorbikes.

These are done in either 2,3,4,5 sessions. An assesment as to what you may need is normally conducted during your CBT, or if you did your CBT elsewhere you can come along for a FREE assessment.

Sessions last around 4 hours and are arranged according to your availability, during the week, weekends or after work evening classes.

If you are under 21 then you can still go for your full motorcycle test on one of our 125cc motorcycles. On passing you are restricted to a motorcycle no greater than 33bhp for two years, after which you can go to any power limit without any further tests.

If you buy a bike that is greater than 35bhp, then we can put you in touch with garages that will restrict the bike for you at a discounted rate.

If you are over 21 but feel nervous about taking your full test on a 500cc motor bike, you can still opt to take your full test on a 125cc. You can speak to your instructor for any guidance and advice in this.

At VIPER as well as organising your training sessions around your timetable, we pre-book all our MOD 1 and MOD 2 test slots well in advance so you can be in for your full test as soon as you like. In fact, you could go from beginner to full licence inside a week!

Your full licence test is split into two modules:

Module 1

Conducted at a multi-purpose test site, usually St. Helens, Darwin/Blackburn or Atherton depending on which is closest to you. The MOD 1 is conducted in a controlled environment where the examiner will test on the following manouvres:

The test last around 10-15 minutes. We will practice all the manoeuvres with you prior to the test and also let you practice on the actual test site where your exam will be held to keep it as true to life as possible.

Module 2

The module 2 test is the road ride, where the examiner will follow you on a test route giving you basic directions. You will have to show competent riding skills, including observations, road positioning, roundabouts, junctions, hazards , angle starts, hill starts etc.

This normally lasts around 40-45 minutes. Again, we pre-book these tests for you so no lengthy waiting times. After you have successfully completed this you will have your full licence, then it's happy days ahead! You may even wish consider your advanced test, which we can arrange for you.
